THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride in Sacramento consists of six separate cars pulled by two vintage diesels from the California State Railroad Museum’s collection.

On board you will be seated in either Coach or First Class according to your ticket purchase. Guests in each car will experience the same excitement and wonder of the Polar Express Train Ride.

Ticket Prices:

Coach Ticket Prices –
$45 per person (ages 2 years and above).

Choose from three different Coach Cars: Katy Car, Kris Kringle Car, or Gingerbread Car.

First Class Audubon Dining Car Ticket Prices –
$240 per table of four (ages 2 years and above).
All First Class Dining Car passengers are seated at their own table of up to four passengers. All ticketed passengers will receive a commemorative cocoa mug.

First Class El Dorado Ticket Prices –
$60 per person (ages 2 years and above).

All First Class El Dorado passengers are seated aboard the El Dorado observation car in one of two areas: Lounge and Parlor. All ticketed passengers will receive a commemorative cocoa mug.

NEW: First Class French Quarter Ticket Prices –
$60 per person (ages 2 years and above).

The newly added First Class French Quarter car features a mix of individual seats and tables. Seating is based upon a first-come, first-served basis. All ticketed passengers will receive a commemorative cocoa mug.

A $5 per ticket or $20 per table service fee will apply at purchase checkout.

All children under 2 years must be seated on an adults lap while on board the train and do not require a ticket.

KATY Coach Car
The KATY Car is our largest coach which holds up to 80 passengers.  The seats are comfortable loveseat style for groups of four facing each other two on each side.

Kris Kringle Car
The seats are comfortable loveseat style for groups of four facing each other two on each side. The Kris Kringle Car holds up to 66 passengers.

Gingerbread Car
The Gingerbread Car seats up to 54 passengers in chair-style seating.  A set of two chairs in groups of four facing each other.

 

 

——————————— First Class Cars ——————————— 

First Class AUDUBON Dining Car
The Dining Car is known as the “Audubon” because of the hand-painted reproductions of bird illustrations by the artist/naturalist John James Audubon. Green garlands of pine cones and berries with big burgundy velvet bows and gold bells are draped along the sides of the car. The Audubon holds 44 passengers. Groups of four passengers are seated around a small dining table.  Tickets will be sold by table of four.

First Class EL DORADO Observation Car
The beautifully restored First Class Observation Car is called El Dorado.  This handsome 1920s lounge car offers large windows and comfortable seating.  It is elegantly decorated with holiday garland across the ceiling.  The car is divided into two sections select either the Parlor and Lounge.  Passengers in both locations are free to move about the car and step off onto the observation platform.

The El Dorado Parlor A private interior room decorated with stained glass interior windows and grey tufted leatherette seats. The Parlor has comfortable seating groups for two, four or more and holds up to 18 passengers.

The El Dorado Lounge A section of seats up to 18 passengers on burgundy boucle sofas and chairs facing each other.

NEW! First Class FRENCH QUARTER Lounge Car The Lounge Car was inspired by the New Orleans French Quarter, with wrought iron balconies and a “Sunset pink” painted ceiling studded with stars. Complete with its own serving bar, the French Quarter has large windows and a variety of seating combinations including four small dining table booths for seating of four guests; settees and lounge-style chairs.
