California State Railroad Museum Foundation

CSRMF is an official cooperating association with California State Parks and a 501(c)(3) organization, providing funding for ongoing support of numerous programs at the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento and Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown.

Echoes of the Rails

For generations, the sound of a train whistle has inspired memory and imagination, recalling the vision, determination and sacrifice of those who built the railroads that connected a nation and transformed California. Their stories and legacies continue to shape the communities we know today.

Mission

The Foundation's mission is to honor the full complexity of railroad history through partnerships, philanthropy and lived experiences, inspiring all who encounter it to see themselves in that story and to help build what comes next.

Vision

The people who built our railroads and communities are fully represented, and their stories, including the most complex ones, inspire how we imagine and build the future.
